I’ve been taking a few weeks to explore my favorite apps. I’ve discovered so many apps on my phone that I used to use but I had forgotten that even had them.

Two months ago my son and daughter in law gave birth to the most wonderful little baby. I have been spending a significant amount of time with them getting to know our precious grandson and helping his new parents. I wanted to remain faithful in writing, but time to do the necessary research was lacking. Rocking a beautiful baby has such a powerful pull. We will get back to the good stuff in a few weeks. In the meantime try out a few of these apps and let me know what you think.

Inductive Bible

I have mixed feelings about this app. When I originally downloaded it, I didn’t find it helpful. During this review I figured out the feature that makes is worthwhile.

If you are not familiar with the Inductive Bible Study method, this app will not be helpful to you. One of the things I like to do while trying the Bible is to mark repeated words and many other things actually. I finally discovered that you can make these markings electronically. You are able to add chapter themes and section division themes as well.

I have not decided if I will continue to use this or not. The markings in this app are completely different than what I am used to. Honestly, I am a paper copy person myself. The markings in a paper copy capture my attention so much more quickly.

Here is a sample:

Bible.is

I was surprised by this app. It is an audio version of the Bible with many translations to choose from. It is dramatized and not simply an audio version. Different voices are used along with dramatic music behind the audio voices. I was surprised at how this changes the listening experiences. There is a plethora of different reading plans. I highly recommend that you give this one a try.

Daily Grace

Daily grace is an app that allows you to upload purchased studies so that you can do them electronically. I’ve have done this from time to time.

There is not a lot you can do without purchasing one of their studies. You can access their yearly Bible reading plans, but not much more.

Bible Dictionary

Bible Dictionary is a simple Bible dictionary. It doesn’t have lots of bells and whistles. There are a few options for dictionaries.

NET

The Net Bible is a gold mine. The notes in this Bible may become my next favorite thing. The notes include thoughts from the translators. There are explanations about how the decisions were made. If you are someone who is interested in the Greek and Hebrew origins of words, you must try this app.

Literal Word is the last app we will explore. This app is a pretty simple way to explore Greek and Hebrew word origins. I would still recommend Bible Hub or Blue Letter Bible.

You click on the Greek or Hebrew symbol at the top and all the words that have Greek or Hebrew references will be underlined. Click on a word and the Greek or Hebrew information pops up in the bottom.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at the apps on my phone. I would love to hear what your favorite apps are. Please comment below with your most favorite.
