I will be reviewing some of my favorite apps for you over the next few weeks. I hope to show you some apps that you are not familiar with and that you will consider trying.

Prayminder

This is one of my favorite apps. I have not been using it very long. To sum it up in a few words, it is an electronic prayer list.

You can set up your prayers by groups: wisdom, health, family, etc. The ones that are already loaded have a sample prayer that you can pray for that particular topic. You can delete the preloaded ones and add your own. I created a group for my family, friends, church, and the lost.

Within each group, you can add specific people of prayer topics. Within my family group I have my four children, my husband, and my grandson.  I listed specific things I wanted to pray for each one of them. I can mark each individual concern as answered when the Lord answers it.

I find this app to be very helpful. It has the capabilities of sending your 5 reminders each day. As I go through my day, I get a notification and can say a quick prayer. I think you should give it a try.

Bible Tracker

Many of us set goals to read Scripture. How many times have you started reading Genesis in January and quit before you get to Exodus? There are so many different ways to read God’s Word. I wouldn’t say that there is a right way or a wrong way. I would encourage you to make a plan. I’ve never felt that just opening up the Bible and reading really works. It is too random for me. You will always be more successful if there is a plan.

There are many Bible reading plans that you can access online. You can read from beginning to end. Some read Chronologically. Other plans read a part of the New and Old Testament and a Psalm. The plan doesn’t matter. You just need one.

The Bible Tracker App allows you to keep track of what you have read. It allows you to mark individual chapters or an entire book at once. You will receive “achievement badges” when you complete an entire book. It will also keep track of how much of the Bible you have read. So far, I have read 37% since January. The app gives you different types of statistics. It will tell you how many chapters you have read in the Bible as well as how many books.

Some people do not need the motivation, but others do. It is free and worth a try.
